Who Qualifies? Active members (including active reservists) of the US Armed Forces.
What You Need:
- Must have a valid government ID.
- Must be able to provide a copy of Leave and Earnings Statement to dealer (SSN must be redacted).
- Apply through your Zero Motorcycles Dealer at the time of sale.
Program Terms and Conditions:
- The Program shall be in effect through December 31, 2019.
- Limited to new unregistered Zero motorcycles.

RIDING SCHOOL INSTRUCTORS
We appreciate all you’re doing to grow the ranks of safe, skilled riders. As a result, qualifying instructors with certified rider training programs will receive $500 for Zero S, Zero DS, Zero SR and Zero DSR models or $250 for Zero FX and Zero FXS models at the time of purchase.
Motorcycle Riding Instructor Purchase Program (“Program”)
Who Qualifies? Certified motorcycle riding instructors with certified United States rider training programs including but not limited to Motorcycle Safety Foundation and California Motorcyclist Safety Program.
What You Need:
- Motorcycle riding instructor certificate/ID or riding school instructor documentation (must provide dealer with copy).
- Apply through your Zero Motorcycles Dealer at the time of sale.
Program Terms and Conditions:
- The Program shall be in effect through December 31, 2019.
- Limited to new unregistered Zero motorcycles.

STUDENT RIDERS
As a successful graduate of a basic riding school, you’ve taken an important step toward safe, lifelong motorcycling. To recognize this accomplishment, qualifying students who have recently completed the Motorcycle Safety Foundation or California Motorcyclist Safety Program rider courses will receive $500 for Zero S, Zero DS, Zero SR and Zero DSR models or $250 for Zero FX and Zero FXS models at the time of purchase.
MSF/CMSP Student Rider Purchase Program (“Program”)
Who Qualifies? People who have completed a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) or California Motorcyclist Safety Program (CMSP) Rider Course within the last (90) days.
What You Need:
- Must have an MSF or CMSP certificate of completion (must provide dealer with copy).
- Apply through your Zero Motorcycles Dealer at the time of sale.
Program Terms and Conditions:
- The Program shall be in effect through December 31, 2019.
- Limited to new unregistered Zero motorcycles.

FEDERAL TAX CREDIT
GOVERNMENT INCENTIVES
Select states, regions and cities offer incentives for purchasing electric motorcycles. While not all have discounts or rebates, many are exploring the idea. Zero works with organizations around the world to gain exposure for electric motorcycles and to ensure that they are incorporated into key policy decisions.

FEDERAL TAX CREDITS
Zero motorcycles purchased during calendar year 2017 are eligible to receive the 10% E-motorcycle Federal Tax Credit for up to $2,500. The credit is retroactive only. Electric motorcycles purchased in 2018 are not yet eligible. The tax credit can be claimed when you file your 2017 tax return.
This is a true tax credit. It reduces your tax liability. For example, if you owe $11,000 in taxes, and purchased a $15,995 Zero SR in 2017, this credit would reduce your taxes by $1,600 to $9,400. It is not a tax deduction but a tax credit. So, if you were due a refund by the IRS, your refund would be increased by the amount of the tax credit.
- The amount of the credit is determined by the final bill of sale price, including accessories and additional batteries purchased on the same invoice. The final cost of the motorcycle is based on the total bill of sale price, less taxes, fees, and registration so, if the motorcycle was discounted, the tax credit applies to the discounted price.
- The credit only applies to new, or demonstrator, electric motorcycles.
- Customers who have already filed will be required to file an amended return to claim the credit.
